Antonios Mazaris holds a PhD in ecological modeling. His research interest lies in the field of Ecology and Conservation Biology. More specifically, he is interested in analyzing the spatial pattern of ecological systems and the environmental drivers of those patterns, with a focus on how scale affects the observed patterns and associations. For this research agenda he mainly relies on the construction and analysis of ecological models, as well as on the statistical analysis of real life ecological patterns. He is also experienced with the application of network analysis on ecological interactions. Since 204 he has published 32 articles in scientific peer reviewed journals and more than 10 chapters in Book and Conference proceedings. He has participated in several National and international conferences with more than 80 oral and poster presentations. Since 2009 he serves as scientific expert at the Management Body of Prespes Lakes Natura site, elected by the Greek Ministry of Environmental, Energy and Climate Change and since 2010 he serves as a Management Board of the Hellenic Ecological Society.
